- 13 years as District Council CE - leading integration between infrastructure delivery, asset management, district growth, risk management & financial prudence (Tararua, Far North, Carterton)
- 30 years’ roading & infrastructure experience – improving safety & mitigating risks (Central & Local Government), aligning asset upgrades with maintenance needs (Contactor & Engineer), project management & strategy development, & optimising resource usage.
- Significant skills working with contractors to provide timely core infrastructure upgrades & maintenance, using Traditional & Alliance type supply agreements. A key point of difference is ensuring upgrades have programmes in place to deliver ongoing asset maintenance.
- Experienced Controller, Civil Defence and Emergency Management, & previous Chair, Northland Region Coordinating Executive Group.
- Engineer for NZ’s international Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) team with deployments to Christchurch Earthquakes, Japan Tsunami, Napier Flooding and Cyclone Gabrielle.
- 20 years as Volunteer Firefighter for Fire and Emergency, familiar with leading and employing volunteers.
